Recycling Calendars

The production of calendars to highlight waste and recycling collections is an effective way to encourage the correct and regular use of a collection service and is a strategy that has proven very popular with residents in areas where this has been done.

Calendars can range from a simple fridge magnet to a full month to view calendar that can be put on the wall. There are various benefits and differences between each type of mechanic that is chosen, but A&P have experience with the production of a full range of formats.

Below is an example of a recent two-year calendar that has been produced for Hyndburn Council.

This was the second time that Hyndburn had commissioned A&P to produce a recycling Calendar. As recycling rounds and other information was unlikely to change they opted to produce a two year calendar that proved to be much more cost-effective.

A consumer friendly and light hearted approach was taken to give the calendar some appeal, and to encourage its use over the two-year life span. On the front of the calendar was also a resident feedback form for residents to complete and return.

Following the distribution some focus group sessions were held to gauge public feedback to the calendars  all of which was very positive.
