High School Recycling Challenge

Category:

High School Recycling ChallengeHigh School Pupils with campaignThe objective of the award winning High School Recycling Challenge was to engage high school children with a recycling campaign to ultimately reach as many householders as possible to communicate key recycling messages, obtain resident feedback, and to collect email addresses for future direct communications.

The High School Recycling Challenge won the Valpak award for best education project in 2008.

The campaign was internet based where local high schools competed against each other to collect the most voucher activations from individual householders.

Pupils at each school were provided with a book of vouchers that were to be distributed to other householders in the area. Each voucher directed the resident to the campaign website where they provided a few answers to questions about recycling as well as an email address for ongoing direct communication. Once this had been done the resident entered their unique code on the voucher to see if they had won a prize.

The campaign culminated in an awards event where the top performing pupils in each school were awarded with their prizes, as well as the first, second and third best performing schools.
